Welcome to the official website of The New Jersey Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and The New Jersey Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons — the preeminent professional associations for otolaryngologists in the State of New Jersey. The objectives of the NJAO-HNS and NJAFPS are:

 

• to establish standards of proficiency in the practice of
  head and neck surgery and facial plastic surgery;

 

• to promote adherence by the membership to these standards;

 

• to enhance and disseminate education in otolaryngology/facial plastic surgery to practicing physicians and the general public; and

 

• to encourage research and advances in the treatment of
  diseases of the head and neck.

 

   Active members consist of board-certified otolaryngologists and qualification for admission to either Academy is dependent upon training, demonstrated skills, and adherence to the highest ethical and moral standards.

 

   Our Academies are closely involved with significant legislative and regulatory issues that affect practicing otolaryngologists, including licensure and scope of practice issues, PIP and out-of-network reimbursement, health insurance policies, and tort reform.

 

   The NJAO-HNS/NJAFPS also provides outstanding education, with nationally-recognized speakers at the Annual Spring meeting, traditionally in April and in conjunction with the NJ American College of Surgeons Annual Meeting in December.
